A strong QC (Quality Control) system is what separates a “nice sample” from a reliable long-term supplier. For wholesale ceramic orders, QC should focus on visual consistency, structural integrity, and packaging safety.
Below is a practical QC checklist you can request before shipment—especially helpful for first orders or new designs.
1) Appearance & Surface Finish (Visual Standard)
Check:
- Color consistency vs approved sample (shade tolerance)
- Glaze surface: pinholes, bubbles, cracks, glaze runs
- Scratches, stains, uneven texture
- Gloss level consistency (for matte/satin/glossy)
Request: inspection photos in natural light + close-up detail shots.
2) Shape & Dimension Control (Fit for Retail Set)
Check:
- Height/diameter tolerance
- Mouth opening consistency (important for flower arrangement)
- Wall thickness uniformity (reduces cracking risk)
- Flat base stability (no wobbling)
Request: measurement records for random samples.
3) Structural Integrity (Durability)
Check:
- Micro-cracks (especially around neck and base)
- Edge chipping or weak points
- Sound test or handling test (basic screening)
- Stability of attached parts (if any)
4) Sorting Standard (A Grade vs B Grade)
Agree on:
- What is acceptable minor defect?
- What defects must be rejected?
- B-grade handling: discount, replacement, or not shipped
Best practice: confirm A/B standard in writing before production.
5) Packaging & Drop-Risk Prevention
Check:
- Each unit protection (foam sleeve / wrap / corner protection)
- Carton strength and internal fit (no loose space)
- Carton marks / barcode labels if needed
- Random carton opening verification before loading
Request: packing photos for one full carton + inner protection details.
6) A Simple “Pre-Shipment QC” Confirmation Message
Copy & paste to your supplier:
Please follow the approved sample and perform pre-shipment QC, including:
- color/finish check under natural light
- surface defects check (pinholes, scratches, glaze runs)
- dimension & stability check
- A/B grade sorting standard confirmation
- packing verification with photos (inner protection + carton)
If you share your product photos + finish requirements + target market, we can provide a recommended QC standard and packing method to reduce returns and breakage for bulk orders.
